For the Love of Death #7 New Adult Dark Paranormal/Scifi Romance The Death Series edition by Tamara Rose Blodgett Romance eBooks
Each time I read one of Tamara's books, I think she can't get better. But, each time she proves me wrong. Each book is better than the last. And For the Love of Death is no exception. While this book appears to be the next in the Death Series, she has stated it's not. It's probably a spinoff, since this book picks up about 20 years after the last one. We meet Paxton and Deegan, Caleb and Jade's children. Both are paranormals. Most of the paranormals are gone by this time, and the sterilization of all the paranormals 20 years earlier has reduced the population. The new graysheets want to get their hands on Pax and Deegan, and in their attempt, Pax "blinks" them to an alternate earth where paranormals are hunted and exterminated by robots. He and Deegan get separated, and have to find each other in order to get home again. Deegan manages to raise the dead, and one of her zombies is Mitch, who decides he doesn't want t go back underground. Caleb gathers all his old friends together in order to go back to the alternate earth to see if the Organics can heal his mother from cancer. More and more adventure follows them. And, we are left with a cliffhanger. You have to read the book to find out what happens.Product details

For the Love of Death #7 New Adult Dark Paranormal/Scifi Romance The Death Series edition by Tamara Rose Blodgett Romance eBooks Reviews
It wasn't my favorite of the series but it wasn't bad either. I think the kids should have their own series and really should not have come into this series except as maybe a side note but I suppose the series really ended in 6 and this could be a start of a new series just under the same name. Anyway, I enjoyed it as well as the rest of the series
First I didn't know book 6 was suppose to be the end. But in 7 we not only ave out beloved characters but we add in more to love. I'm so glad you decided to keeping going with this story!
She still SERIOUSLY needs a new editor! The typos, the constant grammar errors, the missing words...ugh.
The story is good and carries on pretty much as you would expect from the original series. It sometimes takes you a minute to figure out who is "talking" because the point of view changes almost from chapter to chapter. 4 stars for the story, though.
The story is great as far as it goes, but 90% of the way in, it abruptly stops; the number of unfinished plot lines is excessive. The reader gets teased about a new zombie/live person romance, a beloved character's possible healing from a emotionally disabling condition, the fate of the bad guys/evil empire corporation, and an entire world of zombie-rights violators. None of these plot lines are resolved. The first six books were much more satisfying, this one leaves me feeling like I was in the audience at a seven-minute Sex Pistols concert. As the price of the books goes up, the satisfaction level goes down.
It ended with a terrible Cliffhanger. While overall the book was pretty much like the rest of the series, some would say almost too much. Bledsoe was an almost exact replica of Cameron. A creepy perv. The author seems to regurgitate these cut out look alike enemies too often. The book was way too short and ended in the middle of battle! Not cool. I hate cliff hangers with a passion. The author really dropped the ball on this one. I wouldn't bother reading it until the next one cones out and hopefully closes this series out. I do hope she doesn't plan to milk it any further. Authors need to learn to go out on top instead of dragging a series on so long it gets old.
I have been a fan of the "death"series since I read the first book in 2012. I have enjoyed all of them until now. In the past the characters were well developed, had strong personalities, and made you feel connected to them. I really enjoyed the vision into the future from both the genetics and the technology perspective. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for book 7.
What happened???
It was difficult to follow the storyline when trying to keep up with the multitude of characters who's voices all sounded the same (I had to refer to the chapter heading to know who's perspective the story was being told from). As if that wasn't bad enough the story jumped back and forth between worlds???
The book was repetitive. It seemed as though the author got stuck on the capture, beat up and rescue Deegan wheel, and didn't know how the get off. And then to add a final insult. The book ended in such an abrupt way I had to go back and reread the final chapter. I thought maybe my copy was missing pages or that I had skipped them.
Very Disappointing...😕😕😕
3.5 / 4 Stars
Ok, so I know this book is about Caleb's & Jade's kids, and I loved having the old gang back, but I struggled with it initially. In part because I couldn't understand what the heck these kids were saying. If this is the way kids talk today, then they don't live around me. The other thing was I had a hard time with Pax. I'm getting around it slowly, but at least Deegan is a character I can love. The poor thing. What is with all of the abuse this kid is facing? And the one good thing? They want to take away from her.
I can say that the story had a lot of action. I actually liked this version of traveling dimensions better than the original series. It flowed better, and seemed more believable. Even if that dimension sucked as much as the last one.
It is a little weird to think Caleb and gang are in their forties with teens / young adults of their own. Jumping that far into the future was surprising. And wow, what a difference in some areas, but not in others. You still have those trying to take advantage, those that are bullies, and those who are just trying to live their lives with the abilities they have.
All in all, it was still interesting to read and I'll continue to read it, but only if Mitchell stays in. I'm coming to love that guy.
